National Policy and Technical Guidelines on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Emergencies

From June 2019 to October 2020, Atty. Salma F. Angkaya-Kuhutan served as a consultant of Oxfam Pilipinas in the development of the National Policy and Technical Guidelines on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Emergencies, an initiative led by the Department of Health with the support of UNICEF and Oxfam Pilipinas to improve the coordinated delivery of services during pre-disaster, response, and early recovery phase.

Pambansang Almusal Guesting (October 24, 2018)

On October 24, 2018, Atty. Salma F. Angkaya-Kuhutan was interviewed by Pambansang Almusal of Net25 to discuss online consumer rights.

Online sales are governed by the Consumer Act (rights and remedies of consumers in general), the E-Commerce Act (rights and remedies in online transactions in general), the Access Device Regulation Act (rights and remedies involving the use of access devices such as credit cards and debit cards), the Cybercrime Prevention Act (remedies against cybercrimes, including online fraud and identity theft), and the Data Privacy Act (data privacy violation or personal data breach).

On-the-Job Training Program

The Law Office of Atty. Salma F. Angkaya-Kuhutan (SAKLAW) has recently launched our On-the-Job (OJT) Training Program for Students.

OJT Program:

  • designed for students to immerse them in a work environment relevant to their courses as they desire to acquire productivity in, knowledge on, and respect for the workplace
  • venue where students earn experience in career positions relevant to their choice of academic degrees as well as open up other future career choices towards decent and gainful employment

OJT Requirements:

  • Memorandum of Agreement and Guidelines specifically outlining the role and responsibilities of all concerned parties, safety of trainees/ students, training plan, learning objectives and method of evaluation between the school and the partner institution/company/office
  • Letter-request from involved schools or training institutions indorsing and informing that the concerned student/trainee is indeed qualified to complete the OJT program. The letter should contain the learning objectives and expected output of the on-the-job training program
  • Consent and waiver form duly signed by his/her parent/guardian/ spouse, pledge of good conduct and bio-data
  • Insurance coverage
